History

In 1801 the tower had six bells. These were handed over to Thomas Mears in 1809 who cast a complete ring of eight at a cost of £909-15-8. These were rehung in 1907 by James Barwell in the existing two-tier frame. In 1987 they were replaced by a new ring of eight Dutch bells cast by Eijsbouts and hung in a new metal frame by Eayre & Smith - the only Dutch bells in the county.
