Enville, St Mary the Virgin
Bridgnorth Road, Enville DY7 5JA
8 bells, tenor 14-3-3 in F (ground floor ring)
Practice night: Monday 19:30 - 21:00
In 1718 Abraham Rudhall cast a complete ring of six for Enville. The fourth was recast and the ring augmented to eight and hung in a new wooden, two-tier frame by Taylors in 1875/6 following the rebuilding of the tower. Taylors returned in 1903 to recast the seventh and then Mears & Stainbank rehung the bells in 1938, recasting the tenor at the same time. The bells were rehung in a new two-tier metal frame in 1980/1 by Eayre & Smith, after ten years of silence, and are rung from the ground floor.
