History

In 1696 William Bagley cast 6 bells for the church. John Warner & Sons recast the second and tenor in 1858 and the ring was augmented to 8 by James Barwell in 1897. The bells were recast by Gillett and Johnston in 1929 to form the present day ring of 8.

Transport

By Train/Bus: From Wolverhampton Railway Station - Railway Drive WV1 1DE - a short walk to the Bus Station. Take the number 255 or 256 bus to Church Hill, Penn, followed by a ten minute walk to the Church. By Road: Located on Church Hill, off the A449 (Penn Road). There is a car park opposite the Church and on-street parking next to the Church.

Toilets are on-site. There are a number of pubs close-by: Penn Road - Roebuck Inn, Rose & Crown, Hollybush Inn. Pennwood Lane - Barley Mow. Church Hill - The Old Stag's Head. The ringers tend to use 'The Stag' or 'Barley Mow', known for food and good beer.
