History

Five bells were cast by Joseph Smith in 1705, the gift of the Lord of the Manor, John Newton. They were rehung in 1890 by Taylors with all new fittings and a treble was added in 1892. Taylors returned to recast the entire ring in 1937 and rehung them in the composite frame hanging them on wooden headstocks with ball bearings. Originally a ground floor ring, a new first floor enclosed gallery was created in the 1980’s.
