History

This ancient ring of four is hung in its original wooden frame with the ropes falling in the order 1-3-2-4. All the bells swing north-south with the two trebles hung end-to-end in the middle pit. This may have been the easiest (or least costly) way of augmenting from three to four thus explaining the curious rope circle. The bells are rung from an open west-end gallery.
