History

A complete ring of six cast by John Rudhall in 1786/7 were hung in 1788 when the new church building was ready to receive them. They were remodelled into a ring of eight in 1873 by adding a treble and tenor and recasting the old fourth bell, the work being carried out by Mears & Stainbank. The bells were then rehung in 1909 by James Barwell and recast into a new ring of ten by Gillett & Johnston in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King George VI. They were hung in a new two-tier metal frame with the third and fifth above the rest.
